Matters of the
Heart & Roots

Guided Meditation  •  Experiential Exploration Community

We create spaces for honest reflection and meaningful connection, so we can meet life with greater presence, compassion and courage.

Our Story

In our therapeutic and personal journeys, we meet the same tender truths again and again: life is precious, change is constant, and we are not in control.

When we turn toward these realities, aging, illness, death, loss, we can live more fully, more honestly, and with deeper compassion.

These workshops grew from our wish to create a space where we can reflect together, practice presence, and support one another in what truly matters.

Together, we create this opportunity to explore these tender realities.

Why we work together

We share a deep respect for the human experience in all its complexity. Our approaches are different, yet complementary. Together we hold a space that is both grounded and open, practical and profound.

The Five Remembrances

The Five Remembrances invite us to reflect on some of the deepest realities of being human. Rather than taking something away from life, they can help us recognize how precious it is.

  • 01I am of the nature to grow old. There is no way to escape growing old.
  • 02I am of the nature to have ill health. There is no way to escape ill health.
  • 03I am of the nature to die. There is no way to escape death.
  • 04All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change.
  • 05My actions are my only true belongings.
